After surgery, the area surrounding the eyes is swollen
with minimal bruising for a week to ten days. At night,
you should keep your head elevated on several pillows,
and place cold compresses every few hours for the first
night. Contact lenses are not advised for the first week,
due to stiffness and soreness. Make-up is allowed after the
first week. Because of the placement of the suture lines, the
scars are barely perceptible and follow the natural contours
of the eyes.
