Stephen J. Plumb, D.O. is Board Certified in multiple specialties by The American Board of Dermatology and The American Board of Pathology and Dermatopathology. A native of Wisconsin, Dr. Plumb’s graduate training brought him to Fort Lauderdale, Florida at Nova Southeastern University followed by a general medicine internship year at Florida Hospital East Orlando. Following his internship, he completed a residency in both anatomic and clinical pathology at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. Additionally, Dr. Plumb completed a fellowship in dermatopathology at University of Washington in Seattle where his interest in skin cancers, melanoma and Mohs micrographic surgery grew.
Dr. Plumb believed the very best patient care would be achieved if he were also trained in dermatology. He completed a residency at Cleaver Dermatology in Kirksville, MO where he simultaneously served as a residency instructor in dermatopathology. The residency was heavily surgically and Mohs oriented and Dr. Plumb received quite extensive experience in this busy program.
Dr. Plumb has since worked as both a dermatologist and dermatopathologist where his unique, extensive training, experience and knowledge has yielded excellent patient outcomes. His desire to return to central Florida has brought him back to the state where his initial training began.
Dr. Plumb’s areas of expertise include skin cancer and precancerous growths including melanoma, Mohs micrographic surgery, dermatopathology and general dermatology.
Dr. Plumb is seeing patients at Suncoast Skin Solutions’ The Villages office.
