Qualified Mohs Surgeon Dr. Ewanowski
Dr. Ewanowski is a native of Tampa, studied at the Jesuit High School, and was an undergraduate at the University of South Florida.
In 2003, after receiving his M.D. from the University of the South Florida College of Medicine, he pursued and completed a plastic and general surgical internship at the University of California San Francisco.
He focused on innovative surgical management of skin issues including techniques such as skin cancer surgery, laser surgery, and reconstructive surgery as a dermatology resident at Georgetown University Hospital.
After completing his training in Georgetown in 2007, Dr. Ewanowski becomes one of only around 65 dermatologists globally to start a dermatologic surgery fellowship which focused on skin oncology, Mohs and reconstructive surgery, and laser.
In 2008, he completed his American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery approved fellowship under the guidance of Pearson Lang M.D. and Joel Cook M.D., two of the most renowned and eminent Mohs surgeons in the United States. Dr. Ewanowski went on to return home and establish Suncoast Skin Solutions in 2008.

Each removed layer is reviewed under a microscope until the malignant tissue has been completely eliminated and the margins are cancer-free.
Traditional skin cancer treatment approaches estimate the extent of tissue to be treated. But Mohs surgery examines 100 percent of the tissue margin. This allows Dr. Ewanowski to take only the necessary amount of tissue to make sure that the cancer is entirely removed.
This treatment approach minimizes the amount of normal tissue eliminated and improves the aesthetic outcomes.
