Dr. Christopher Ewanowski is one of the few board certified, fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeons in the Bay Area specializing in laser surgery, Mohs Micrographic Surgery, and reconstructive and cosmetic dermatologic surgery.
Dr. Ewanowski is a native of Tampa, went to Jesuit High School, and was an undergraduate at the University of South Florida. Upon receiving his M.D. from the University of the South Florida College of Medicine in 2003, he went on to complete plastic and general surgical internship at the University of California San Francisco.
He focused on the cutting-edge surgical management of skin conditions including laser surgery, skin cancer surgery, and reconstructive surgery as a dermatology resident at Georgetown University Hospital.
After finishing his training in Georgetown in the year 2007, Dr. Ewanowski became one of the only around 65 dermatologists in the world to start a dermatologic surgery fellowship focusing on laser, skin oncology and Mohs, and reconstructive surgery.
He completed this fellowship, which is approved by the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery, in 2008 under the tutelage of Pearson Lang M.D. and Joel Cook M.D., two of the most eminent and renowned Mohs surgeons in the US. Subsequently, Dr. Ewanowski returned home and set-up Suncoast Skin Solutions in 2008.
Suncoast Skin Solutions, led by board certified dermatologist Dr. Christopher Ewanowski, provides cosmetic and medical skin care treatments to patients in Tampa, Brandon, Lutz, Seminole, Riverview, Brooksville, Winter Haven, Daytona Beach, Largo, St. Petersburg, Ocala, Sarasota, Central Florida, Florida, and surrounding communities.

The skin is the only organ in the body that continually replenishes itself. Therefore, it is vital for medical care providers to evolve as well. Suncoast Skin Solutions offers patients advanced treatments in all facets of dermatology.
At the same time, the practice remains faithful to tried and true treatment methods as well. Compound drugs, considered to be a thing of the past in many practices, are abundantly available at Suncoast Skin Solutions.
Mohs surgery is a subspecialty involving the conservative elimination of skin cancers to preserve as much tissue as possible and to repair the resulting wound to appear aesthetically appropriate subsequently.
In comparison to routine excision, Mohs surgery looks at 99 percent more of the edges around the removed tissue. Therefore, it offers a far superior rate of clearance for tumors.
It is troublesome enough to undergo surgery to remove a basal cell on the nose or melanoma on the cheek. But repeating the process for the same incompletely removed cancer is unnecessary.
Fellowship trained Mohs surgeons devote an extra year of their training to specializing in tumor extirpation, analyzing difficult histologic variants of cancers under the microscope, and refining grafts and flaps to create less visible post-operative scarring.
The specialists at Suncoast Skin Solutions are familiar with the intricacies of the Mohs procedure. Dr. Ewanowski and his team will guide the patient through the entire process. The quality of their work is as important as the impression the patient derives from the experience.
The professionals at Suncoast Skin Solutions work with patients from start to finish as well as coordinate with the patient’s medical care providers to make sure that all aspects of their care are addressed.
