Juvederm Ultra

Juvederm Ultra is effective in the treatment of moderate wrinkles and fine lines on the face. This injectable treatment can be used nearer to the surface of the skin as well as in facial sites with thinner skin such as the lines around the mouth and nose. Juvederm Ultra XC can also be used on delicate areas such as the lips for augmentation.

Juvederm dermal filler gel contains hyaluronic acid which is a substance that occurs naturally in the human body. HA acts similar to a sponge absorbing water and leading the treated site to become slightly fuller. The results of this treatment can sustain from six months to one year.

The XC version of this filler gel contains lidocaine which eliminates the need for applying local anesthetic in the treatment area.

Juvederm Ultra medical spa treatment is also effective in the treatment of static lines on the face. Static lines are those lines that are noticeable even when the face is still and expressionless.

Juvederm Voluma

Juvederm Voluma is an innovative dermal filler which contains a high concentration of HA. This compound occurs naturally in the human body and helps hold the skin together tightly. Juvederm Voluma has been developed in a manner that adds fullness to depleted cheeks creating a rounder, more youthful looking face.

Juvederm Voluma is the only dermal injectable filler that the FDA has approved for the specific purpose of adding volume to sunken cheeks. This treatment can help create sharper facial contours and offer a slight lift to the cheeks. Voluma outcomes can sustain for up to two years.

Juvederm Vollure

Juvederm Vollure is the newest product in the family of Juvederm medical spa dermal fillers for the face. This one-of-a-kind cosmetic filler has received FDA-approval for individuals over the age of 21 years.

Juvederm Vollure is unique in that it is the first and only HA-based dermal filler which has received approval for the treatment of moderate to severe folds and wrinkles on the face, such as nasolabial folds. The outcomes of this treatment may last for up to 18 months.

Juvederm Vollure’s unique formulation balances gel firmness and low cohesiveness which makes it an adaptable treatment. This injectable gel can mitigate the appearance of moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles by subtly adding more fullness to such areas.

Juvederm Volbella

The FDA has given a nod to Juvederm Volbella dermal filler treatment to add volume to the lips and mitigate the appearance of wrinkles and fine lips around the lips. This treatment can effectively make the pout look fuller providing a more attractive appearance to the mouth.

Juvederm Volbella XC is a special formulation which has been designed to improve the appearance of the lips and reduce fine lines around the lips. Volbella can help reduce the fine, vertical lines around the lips, also known as smoker’s lines. It can address oral commissures (lines that extend from the mouth corners) as well.

Dermal fillers, including Juvederm, rank as the second most popular cosmetic dermatology treatment in the US today after Botox.

1 217x300 - How long does Juvederm dermal filler last? The FDA-approved Juvederm facial filler has a high safety profile. But patients may be concerned about the sustainability of its outcomes.

During the pre-treatment consultation process, the treatment provider will inform the patient of the expected longevity of the treatment. The patient should evaluate the estimated results and sustainability of Juvederm filler gel treatment against other similar dermal injectable treatments to arrive at a well-considered decision.

Suncoast Skin Solutions, led by board certified dermatologist Dr. Christopher Ewanowski, provides Juvederm to patients in Tampa, Brandon, Lutz, Seminole, Riverview, Brooksville, Winter Haven, Daytona Beach, Largo, St. Petersburg, Ocala, The Villages Central Florida, Florida, and surrounding communities.

HA Cross-Linking Ensures Longevity

Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid (HA) based filler. Therefore, the sustainability of outcomes that it offers depends on the level of cross-linking of the gel molecules. The human body has a tendency to reject foreign materials. However, Juvederm contains HA which is a compound that is naturally found in the body making it more readily acceptable.

This enables the filler gel to sustain for a much longer time offering sustainable anti-aging outcomes. The treatment provides patients with a major improvement over animal product-based collagen injections.

The body rapidly detects this collagen as a foreign substance and disintegrates it fast. However, this does not occur in the case of Juvederm dermal fillers.

Many medical spa facial fillers that are available today contain HA, but may not offer similar long-lasting outcomes. Products that are not non-cross linked break down within a few days. However, Juvederm remains at the site beneath the skin for much longer due to the strong cross-linkage of its molecules.

Juvederm dermal injectable treatment is based on the innovative and patented Hylacross technology which allows for robust cross-linking of the molecules. This enables patients to enjoy the outcomes of a single Juvederm injectable treatment for up to a year.

Variable Longevity

How long the results of Juvederm dermal filler injections will last also depends on which facial area is treated. The results may not last for very long in areas of the face that experience higher muscle movement. For example, there is higher movement around the mouth which means that wrinkles and fine lines in this area may be more dynamic due to more movement.

The facial skin elasticity and the depth of the wrinkles will determine the longevity of the outcomes of Juvederm. The effects of the treatment will dissipate slowly, and the entire gel will not vanish in one instance.

Secondary Treatments

If a patient chooses to have a secondary Juvederm treatment after four to six months, the advantages can sometimes be cumulative. The secondary treatment will involve the filler being “stacked” in the lips which makes the resulted more long-lasting.

In certain cases, the entire amount of the filler gel may dissipate in around a year if the patient receives the secondary treatment after six months. The technique of the injection provider can also impact the sustainability of the Juvederm lip augmentation outcomes.
